Everyone on the farm has a job to do
We raise pigs who help minimize waste by consuming a diet made up largely from used materials and byproducts on the farm. They are fed whey – the liquid that is left over from milk that we curdle and strain in the cheesemaking process – food scraps from the kitchen and garden, and a small amount of grain. In winter, you can visit them in their pens just behind the farm store; in summer, they enjoy rooting around in one of our wooded pastures.
And there’s Henry. He’s a multi-tasker: part barn cat, helping to keep the rodent population in check and, without a doubt, the friendliest of farm greeters.
