We are thrilled to host another Living Foods Workshop with Susan Chiappini. This time around, the class is dedicated to preserving the bounty of seasonal vegetables through fermentation. With a little know-how, fermented foods can be easily made in your home kitchen with minimal equipment. Susan will cover all the basics to get you started on making sauerkraut, kimchi, ginger carrots and apple cider vinegar during this hands-on afternoon.
While we chop and prepare the produce, we'll discuss health benefits of fermented foods, how to avoid growth of unwanted bacteria, how to keep those ferments crunchy, and the best materials to have on hand. As we go, delicious samples will be available for tasting.
We will serve refreshments throughout the afternoon, including a board of Churchtown Dairy cheeses, fresh bread, coffee and our own herbal tea for the group to enjoy as they learn from Susan.
Tickets are available here.
