"A Midsummer Night's Dream" in the Round Barn

A Midsummer Night’s Dream
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Carol Rusoff

Set on a midsummer night in the magical forest ruled by the king and queen, Oberon and Titania, the comedy unfolds as the couple’s discord knocks love and nature out of whack. Amidst their laughter and recognition of our always vulnerable human condition, the audience participates in the fervent wish that the natural world may become harmonious again.

Written 500 years ago in the aftermath of the worst year of climate disruption in the British Isles in recorded history (the little ice age), against a backdrop of political uncertainty (the crown's succession) and an ever-threatening pandemic (the plague), Shakespeare’s timeless play speaks to what we are living today.

Featuring a diverse, all-local cast, this community production of Shakespeare’s "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" is free and open to the public. Performances will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 25 - 27 at 7:30pm, running time 90 minutes. Transportation from Hudson and return is available, pick up points and times to be announced. Reserve your tickets HERE.
